Auburn Memorial Hospital Selected as GE Planet PaintFest Site
Auburn Memorial Hospital (AMH) has been selected as one of 106 healthcare facilities across the country to participate in the GE Planet PaintFest project in March. In partnership with the Foundation for Hospital Art, 106 GE locations will team with non-profit organizations worldwide to paint murals that will be donated to healthcare facilities. This event enables GE volunteers to help brighten up and improve the environment for the users of hospitals and other nonprofit organizations by providing unique, eye-catching artwork. The ultimate goal of the Foundation for Hospital Art is to work with volunteers to donate at least one painting to every hospital on Earth.
On March 11, 2010, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, a group of GE volunteers will join with a group of AMH employees and their children to paint the 6-panel, color-coded mural. Working in the AMH Snack Bar, the painters will be served refreshments while they complete the mural.
When the mural is completed, it will be hung in a public area of the hospital.
NOTE TO MEDIA: REPORTERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THIS EVENT. PLEASE CONTACT CYNDY ROSS AT 315-255-7444 IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON GE PLANET PAINTFEST, GO TO WWW.HOSPITALART.ORG.
