Biography
Dr. Edinrin Obasare has been fascinated by the study of living organisms ever since he took biology classes in high school. Born in England and raised in Jamaica, Dr. Obasare graduated from the University of the West Indies Medical School, he graduated from SUNY Downstate here in New York, and completed a fellowship in cardiology at Albert Einstein Medical Center, followed by a second fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology (treating heart rhythm disorders) at Yale University School of Medicine. He is board certified in cardiac electrophysiology, general cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, hypertension, and internal medicine. Yet through it all, apart from his interest in the science of medicine, he became even more attracted to the art of medicine.
Dr. Obasare, returned to New York to join the Auburn Heart and Vascular Institute in summer 2024. Throughout his career he has performed over 1 thousand cardiac electrophysiology procedures including hundreds of device procedures (pacemakers, biventricular devices, defibrillators, device extractions, and left atrial appendage closure devices). He has also performed hundreds of arrhythmia ablation electrophysiology procedures for heart rhythm disorders such as supraventricular tachycardia (fast heart rates from the top of the heart), and atrial fibrillation (irregular heart rhythms from the top of the heart that can cause blood clots and strokes). On a personal note, he enjoys spending time with friends and family and enjoys playing music.
