Biography

Dr. Emily Carmody is a board certified, fellowship trained, orthopaedic surgeon who has been in practice since 2010. She specializes in the treatment of benign and cancerous tumors of the bones and soft tissues of the extremities in patients of all ages. As a musculoskeletal oncologist, Dr. Carmody' s practice is focused on the non-operative and operative management of primary soft tissue and bone tumors, as well as metastatic bone cancer. Dr. Carmody's focus is to provide compassionate multi-disciplinary care that focuses on the whole patient, to provide them with the best possible outcomes and function.

In addition to her oncology practice, Dr. Carmody maintains her practice in general orthopaedics. She performs, primary and revision joint replacement surgery, orthopaedic trauma surgery, and manages other general orthopaedic conditions and work related injuries. Dr Carmody is a robotic knee and hip replacement practioner.

Dr. Carmody earned her medical degree with a distinction in research from The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She went on to complete residency training in orthopedic surgery and an orthopaedic oncology fellowship at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.

Dr. Carmody is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and is a member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS), and International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS) . She has served on several national committees for AAOS and MSTS. In addition, she has presented at many national and international meetings as well as published several journal articles and book chapters.
