Biography
Dr. Jay Varanasi was born and raised in New York State. After completing his undergraduate studies in Boston, he earned his medical degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. He then pursued training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC. Following this, Dr. Varanasi completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Massachusetts, further honing his expertise in advanced cardiac care. Dr. Varanasi began his interventional cardiology practice in Greensboro, NC, in 2006, where he served for 18 years in a well-established cardiology program. During this time, he gained extensive experience and took great pride in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care to his patients. In 2024, Dr. Varanasi returned to New York to help establish a cardiac catheterization program in Auburn. This opportunity allows him to bring his skill set to a community where such specialized services were previously unavailable. By expanding cardiac services, Dr. Varanasi aims to ensure that patients in Auburn and the surrounding areas can access exceptional cardiac care locally, contributing to the improved health and well-being of the community.
