Dr. Mark Gorden Martens is a distinguished physician with over four decades of experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, holding leadership positions in both academic and clinical settings. He currently serves as the Program Director of the OBGYN Residency Program and Director of Clinical Research at Mohawk Valley Health System. Additionally, Dr. Martens is the Medical Director for Academics at Mohawk Valley Health System, where he is responsible for overseeing academic initiatives and training future generations of physicians. Throughout his career, Dr. Martens has held numerous leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at Tower Health, and Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education at Drexel University College of Medicine. He has also served as the Regional Dean for Drexel University College of Medicine and the Founding Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Seton Hall-Hackensack-Meridian School of Medicine. His commitment to advancing women’s health is further evidenced by his tenure as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and several other prestigious institutions. Dr. Martens earned his medical degree from George Washington University, School of Medicine, and completed his OBGYN residency at Hartford Hospital. He also pursued a fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and is a certified menopause practitioner. Dr. Martens’ extensive research background and passion for education make him a leader in his field, with a focus on clinical excellence and mentorship.
