Job description
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice Registered Nurse (APRN). The CNS role has (3) spheres of impact: direct patient care/population health, nurse/nursing practice and organizational/system. The CNS collaborates with all members of the healthcare team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies and contributes to advancing nursing practice at the unit, hospital, health system and beyond.
The candidate will provide leadership and direction in the establishment of quality and process improvement; designs, implements and/or evaluations quality or process improvement programs of care to improve healthcare outcomes.
Will apply and disseminate research, evidence-based practice interventions and best practice guidelines to advance nursing care deliver and improve clinical outcomes.
Consults with patient and families, clinical staff, healthcare system leadership using advanced knowledge of disease or illness to optimize outcomes.
Designs, delivers and /or evaluates formal information education for patients, families or clinical staff.
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility to ensure quality, cost-effective outcomes of healthcare.
Masters Degree in Nursing required. Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist per NYS Office of Professions. National certification preferred.
Salary: $120,000 – $145,000 annually. Based on experience.
