Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Nursing and Quality, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the Interventional Radiology Department by delegating assignments, and providing supervision for the staff.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice in the state of NY (RN).
- Interventional radiology, critical care, telemetry and cardiac experience required.
- Current ACLS/BLS
- Previous clinical leader/charge nurse, or similar leadership experience required.
- Considerable skills in dealing tactfully and effectively with a broad variety of individuals including physicians, management staff, clinical staff, patients, families, and others.
- Must be able to problem solve, handle emergencies, and have time management skills.
- Considerable skills in verbal and written communications are required, as well as computer knowledge and skills.
- Ability to manage process improvement projects and remain organized.
Typical Working Conditions:
Some exposure to communicable diseases or toxic substances, ionizing radiation, therapeutic preparations and other conditions common to a healthcare environment.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts, carries and pushes items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful condition or working irregular hours. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
