Position Title: Radiologic Technologist
Reports To: Technical Director of Radiology

- Full Time Days / 9a-5p – 37.5 hours/week
- Full Time Days / 7a-730p – 36 hours/week
- Full Time Evenings / 3p-11p – 37.5 hours/week

Broad Function:
Responsible for radiographic examinations as prescribed by physicians.
Major Responsibilities:
- Determine individual technique for prescribed examination and position patient properly.
- Prepare and administer opaque media appropriate to the prescribed examination; observe sterile technique, as required.
- Adjust x-ray machine, produce quality radiographs with proper identifying data, and review and evaluate processed film to ensure satisfactory quality.
- Transport and operate portable x-ray unit at bedside and in Operating Room, using sterile technique as appropriate.
- Perform routine special procedures and assist in fluoroscopy.
- Maintain clean examination rooms, equipment and accessories.
- Take emergency night, weekend, and holiday on-call duty, as assigned.
- Provide assistance to patients in transfer between x-ray table and wheelchair / stretcher; provide appropriate patient care, as required.
- Communicate with patients requiring examination and procedures, and provide reassurance, as necessary.
- Maintain awareness of and comply with hospital and regulatory agencies standards, rules, regulations and codes applicable to radiologic services.
- Perform identification procedure by name tag of patient before beginning and procedure.
- Maintain complete understanding of the Radiology Management Systems as it pertains to the Radiologic Technologists.
- Maintain competency in caring for patients of all age groups and developmental stages, and maintain competency as specifically indicated by orientation guidelines for a particular unit.
- May be required to complete Phlebotomy course and subsequently perform venopunctures.
- Perform other and related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School plus 2 years Radiologic Technology or an Associate’s Degree in RT plus NYS License and 3 to 12 months of experience.
- AART registered or registry eligible.
- CPR certification required.
Pay: $29.58 – $43.54 per hour
