Broad Function:
Responsible for specialized and routine radiographic and Mammography procedures as prescribed by physicians.
Union Position:
Position requires union membership and is subject to dues.
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform mammography and x-ray exams and special procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by radiologist. Evaluates images for technical and diagnostic quality.
- Maintain current knowledge of mammography and x-ray exams, special procedures, protocols and human anatomy.
- Maintain current knowledge of mammography and x-ray equipment operation and cleaning, arrange for repairs.
- Follows safe operation and maintenance of equipment, materials and resources to complete duties.
- Instruct and assist patients in regard to mammography and x-ray exams and special procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
- Maintain competency in caring for patients of all age groups, developmental stages and maintain competency as specifically indicated by orientation guidelines for a particular unit.
- Maintains required documentation, records, logs and an adequate level of supplies on hand.
- Maintain complete understanding of radiology management systems and undergo any necessary education on new systems implemented necessary to job duties.
- Cover emergency call for radiology as necessary.
- Perform the duties of Radiologic Technologist, Mammographer and/or one (1) of the above modalities.

- Maintain awareness of and comply with hospital and regulatory agencies standards, rules, regulations and codes applicable to radiologic services.
- Adheres to infection control program to prevent spread of infection practice of standard precautions, protects self, peers, patients and visitors from infection and uses appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Follows and maintains attendance according to policy.
- Attend and complete required education programs (health streams, department specific mandatory programs and position/performance related topics).
- Foster the mission, vision, beliefs, values and philosophy of Auburn Community Hospital.
- Adheres to dress code & always wears ID badge.
- Customer service approach to patient care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: AAS in Radiologic Technology
- Experience: 2 Years Preferred
- Licensure: NYS license/registration, ARRT registered in (RT) required and (M) registered within 6 months, CPR certification required
Physical:
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time, occasional lifting, carrying and pushing items weighing 50+ lbs. Requires full range of motion for handling and lifting to include manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges. Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids on a regular basis. Workload can include stressful situations and irregular workhours.

Pay: $31.83 – $45.83 per hour
