Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and continuously improve educational programs and activities according to identified learning needs to promote individual development of nursing personnel and to facilitate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, develops and implements the Stroke Program.
- Assesses and analyzes outcome measures for continued Stroke Center certification.
- Identifies educational needs and provides comprehensive education pertaining to stroke intervention, prevention and rehabilitation for inpatients and community.
- Collaborates with nursing management and the Education Department to develop and implement staff education related to stroke issues.
- Makes regular rounds on stroke patients to evaluate appropriateness of treatment plan and nursing intervention.
- Keeps the organization updated with all Stroke program regulatory requirements.
- Provides regular reporting to the governing committee on all Stroke related outcomes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years acute care/critical care experience as an RN.
- BSN required; MSN preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills essential.
Schedule: Exempt; Full-Time; Monday – Friday 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm, flexible

Pay: $95,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
