The Health Information Management (HIM) Department is responsible for safeguarding your health information from loss, destruction, tampering and access by unauthorized users. All patients have the right to privacy of health information concerning their care and treatment. This right is protected by organizational policy, medical record ethics and State and Federal laws. Providing adequate safeguard to prevent unauthorized access to the medical record and to prevent unauthorized release of information contained in the medical record protects patient confidentiality.
