Our full‐service rapid access clinic is led by Dr. James Syrett, Chief Medical Officer, Emergency Medicine Physician, and Concussion Specialist with a certification from ImPACT Applications. Whether you're an athlete or someone who may have recently suffered from a concussion, our mission is to ensure the best possible outcome for you.
Our clinic works closely with Auburn Orthopaedic Specialists and the Sports Medicine team to ensure comprehensive concussion support. We are also proud to be a part of the athletic training and sports medicine team for the Auburn School District, providing baseline testing, concussion management and rehabilitation, and more.

We are proud to introduce to you our dedicated and experienced team of medical professionals who are committed to providing exceptional concussion care and support in the surrounding Auburn community and school districts.
James Iain Syrett, MD, MBA, FACEP, FAEMS
Dr. Syrett has joined the ACH Medical Staff from Oswego Hospital where he was an attending physician in Emergency Medicine and VP of the Medical Staff.
Dr. Syrett’s focus has been developing a concussion clinic with sports medicine. He is only the third physician within a 100-mile radius of Auburn, New York to be certified by ImPACT Applications Inc, which provides data, tools, and screening protocols for the diagnosis and management of concussions.
He chaired the Health Quality Assurance & Process Improvement Committee at Oswego. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and earned his medical degree at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and completed his residency training at the University of Rochester. He holds an MBA from the University of Rochester, & has additional board certification in EMS medicine, has previously served as a consulting physician for NASCAR, and has authored several EMS textbook chapters.
